It's Fun To Dilly-Dali On Friday Nights

Friday at Sabores I was joined by my friends Ileana, Luly, Paul, Rita and others for a night of fun and karaoke. Ileana, a renown portrait artist, was also there for a Salvador Dali art exposition the following evening.

As usual, there was a lot of joking and laughs and we are becoming more and more accustomed to getting an outside table for the fresh air and to dim the din of the music.

The night turned into an all-nighter as I joined my partners-in-crime, Luly and Paul, to go bar hopping and we headed toward a known late night watering hole. Unfortunately, the element that was standing outside encouraged us to look for a more suitable location.

We headed for the airport hotels which usually have a bar, but once again, we were foiled. I haven't been to the airport area in many mango seasons, and since they don't let me out of the home much, I enjoyed the excursion.

It seems, however, that most people are sleeping at 3 a.m. Hunger overpowered our search for another bar, so we stopped in at Denny's and ate breakfast. All and all, it was a great evening and I got home around 4 a.m.

For those that would like to see Ileana's work and more pictures, you can go to her blog at http://chica1665.blogspot.com/2016/

The News As I See It: The Republicans and Democrats held their debates last week with Republicans debating Tuesday night with two-tiered time slots because of the many candidates.

The Democratic debate was on Saturday evening, conveniently taking the time slot right after the NFL playoff games. They don't seem to want much publicity given the candidates.

I was amused when ABC announcer said the debate would have all the candidates. Yep, all three (3). The queen, Crazy Bernie and Martin O.Malley, whose presence seemed to be an afterthought.

One of Bernie's better remarks was when he questioned Hillary receiving $600,00 for speaking engagements from Goldman Sachs, a wall street giant who Hillary professes to be against.

A new poll shows that in the last month, Hillary Clinton's lead in Iowa has shrunk from 9 percent to 2 percent. Meanwhile, her fake smile has grown 200 percent.

An NFL player is about to become a father for the 12th time with nine different women. So, he was traded to the NBA.

Printable Things I Never Told You: 1) The woman in the Superman underwear next to me does not quite understand how white pants work. 2) Marriage is for people who want their break ups to involve paperwork. 3) (Judge): "Members of the jury, how do you find the defendant?" (Jury Foreman): "We can't find him at all." (Judge): "Dammit, this is the third robbery Waldo has gotten away with!" 4) People who go to the store and buy a single roll of toilet paper must not have an optimistic view of their life expectancy.  5) One thing I learned while I was out drinking last week was there is no such thing as a goalie in darts.....and that's five !

Today's Horoscope: Capricorn - January 18th: Dogs can be a man's best friend or a woman's best friend. They could also be a child's best friend or a cat's best friend. Actually, dogs are relatively flexible. You may wonder how this information is pertinent to you. Well, for one thing, you now know you have a pal who will chase cars with you.

The AREA 51 Retirement Home Bar And Grill: A man went to the doctor complaining of insomnia. The doctor gave him a thorough examination and found absolutely nothing physically wrong with him.

The doctor said, "Listen, if you ever expect to cure your insomnia, you just have to stop taking your trouble to bed with you." The man, "I know, but I can't. My wife refuses to sleep alone."

Old Aunt Cora went to her doctor to see what could be done about her troublesome constipation. She said to the doctor. "It's terrible, I haven't moved my bowels in more than a week."

The doctor said, "I see. Have you done anything about it?" Aunt Cora replied, "Yes, I sit in the bathroom for a good half of an hour in the morning and then again at night."

The doctor said, "I mean do you take anything?" Aunt Cora replied, "Of course! I take a magazine."

The Hits Just Keep On Coming: A country boy came home and found his house on fire. He rushed next door, telephoned the fire department and shouted, "Hurry over here. My house is on fire!"

The fireman replied, "Okay! How do we get there?" The country boy says, "Don’t you still have those big red trucks?"

A man was sitting at a bar when he noticed a woman with a particularly large diamond ring. As he admired the ring, the bartender came over and said, "That's the Glopman diamond. It's beautiful, but it comes with a curse."

The man asked, "What's the curse?" The bartender replied, "Mrs. Glopman."

That's it for today, my little road runners. Remember, If they're going to call the cops every time they spot you in their bushes, I don't think your relationship is going to work.

A Mystery In AREA 51 At Sabores Restaurant

There's an undercover police horse in my social gang. I've narrowed it down to Iliana, Luly, Michelle, Sandra and Buttermilk. We share brownies, cookies and chocolate, but the other night, someone ate the kale garnish from Paul's plate.

No one in our group is a known vegan but I did smell carrots on Buttermilk's breath. I've passed this information on to Sheriff Roy. Deputy Brady was notified as soon as he came in from patrol driving Nellybelle.

Trigger has an alibi and Bullet merely growled when I asked about the crime. Dale Evans declined comment and suggested I was barking up the wrong tree. This angered Bullet who barked at Ms. Evans.

I hope to solve this mystery tonight when I head over to AREA51 at Sabores Restaurant. I'll keep you abreast of the situation.

Happy Trails.....

What have we learned in 2,066 years?

"The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance." Cicero - 55 BC.

Evidently nothing.

Printable Things I Never Told You: 1) Ladies, if he leaves the stickers on his dorky, flat brimmed baseball cap and his arms are marked with what seems to be graffiti, that's his way of telling you he won't pay child support. 2) My girlfriend asked me to go deeper so I started quoting Nietzsche. 3) (North West): "Daddy what were you famous for?" Take the time to shave closely tonight as the evening is showing signs of becoming memorable. Chance of romance is partly cloudy with a chance of reins, a whip and handcuffs .

The AREA 51 Retirement Home Bar And Grill: Two old men, Murray and Hiram, are discussing the local gossip at the Shady Elm Retirement Home when eighty-year-old Sadie walks by. Sadie says. "Hiya Boys!"

The old men nod in acknowledgement and Hiram whispers to Murray, "That Sadie's a fox but she has a foul mouth. The other night she used the "F" word."

Murray said, "Sadie, that sweet old lady? When did she say that?" Hiram said, "Right after the old lady sitting next to her yelled, 'Bingo!'"

The Hits Just Keep On Coming: Two Louisiana boys were given a special SAT test to meet their admission requirements to the Military Academy.

Obama got out of the shower and was drying off when he looked In the mirror and noticed that he was white from the neck to the top of his head. In a sheer panic and fearing he was turning white all over, he called his doctor and told him what had happened. The doctor advised him to come to his office immediately.

After an examination, the doctor mixed a concoction of brown liquid, gave it to Obama, and told him to drink it all. Obama drank the concoction and said,"That tasted like shit!" The doctor replied, "It was...you were a quart low."

That's it for today, my little goobers. Remember, the words, "You clean up nicely", is just a polite way of saying, "You usually look like shit." I'm heading over to AREA 51 for happy hour.

Quit Complaining And Learn To Play The Hand You're Dealt

In life, there will always be the "haves" and the "have-nots". Let's assume life begins on an even basis and no one has money, bias or political identity. Life gives you certain abilities. Circumstance and surroundings may help or hinder your progress but it doesn't affect your abilities.

For the sake of argument, let's assume there is only one party which we will randomly name the Libtard Party. Sooner or later, in that one party and with the same supposed aim, there would eventually be "haves" and "have-nots".

Sooner or later, that difference will cause a rift in the party, with the "haves" protecting what they have and they "have-nots" coveting the "haves"' possessions. Et, voila! You now have a two party system in its infancy, the second of which we will randomly call the Miserly Party.

Ability, combined with work, luck and circumstance will always define the "haves". Let's assume everyone was stripped of their assets and given the same amount of money as a start up in life. In a short amount of time, the people with the most abilities would become the "haves".

Here is where the logic of playing the hand you're dealt comes into play. Instead of griping about what you don't have, use your knowledge and your particular abilities to improve your life.

Although you may not move much farther up the ladder, I can assure you that you will be better off than the complainers and gripers.

The News As I See It: The White House revealed over the weekend that Obama privately met with Bernie Sanders. When Hillary Clinton heard this, she fake-smiled so hard, her ears touched in the back. Additionally, the White House has joined Snapchat. It's a great platform for the White House, because moments after Obama makes a promise, it magically disappears.

Sanders said that if he’s elected, he plans to spend $1 trillion to fight unemployment. When asked what they would do with that kind of money, unemployed people said, "Retire!"

Mexican drug lord El Chapo was captured by authorities after meeting with Sean Penn. As a result, Bill Cosby canceled his lunch with Sean Penn.

El Chapo is back in the same prison he escaped from six months ago but they revoked his tunnel privileges this time. The plan is they're hoping to extradite him to the United States so he can be tried by a jury of his customers.

A day after he was caught, El Chapo actually sat down for an interview with Sean Penn while he was on the run. In the interview, El Chapo described himself as "a person who's not looking for problems in any way. You know, except for that whole 'Mexican drug lord' thing, I'm just a humble drug lord! I chop up my enemies one leg at a time, just like anybody else."

Picture Of The Day: Sometimes the have-nots are really the haves.....

Printable Things I Never Told You: 1) Anyone who feels bad about dumping a huge national debt on the next generation hasn't spent a lot of time around teenagers. 2) I hope people who say "Jesus is my co-pilot" realize he's a 1st century carpenter with no time in a flight simulator. 3) There should be mandatory common sense and IQ tests at age 16. If you do not pass, you get spayed or neutered. 4) The ending of "Romeo and Juliet" is only sad if you think two fourteen year-olds should have gotten married. 5) My girlfriend just slung off her bra and threw it to the other side of the couch where there are already 2 other bras. Today's Horoscope: Capricorn - January 13th: A horoscope will affect your decisions today as love will strike on your heart and make you ask someone out, someone you would never previously have had the heart do ask out. They'll still deny your wishes but they may have an ugly step-sibling who they reckon needs a "good seeing to".

The AREA 51 Retirement Home Bar And Grill: A man and a woman were having a quiet, romantic dinner in a fine restaurant. They were gazing lovingly at each other and holding hands.

The waitress, taking another order at a table a few steps away, suddenly noticed the man slowly sliding down his chair and under the table, but the woman stared straight ahead.

The waitress watched as the man slid all the way down his chair and out of sight under the table. Still, the woman stared straight ahead.

The waitress, thinking this behavior a bit risque and worried that it might offend other diners, went over to the table and, tactfully, began by saying to the woman "Pardon me, ma'am, but I think your husband just slid under the table."

The woman calmly looked up at her and said, "No, he didn't. He just walked in."

Two psychiatrists were attending their first seminar on emotional extremes. The seminar leader said, "Just to establish some parameters, Mr. Nichols, what is the opposite of joy?" Mr. Nichols replied, "Sadness."

The leader replied, "Very good, Mr. Nichols. The leader continued, "And the opposite of depression, Mr. Biggs?" Mr. Biggs answered, "Elation." The leader replied, "Excellent, Mr. Biggs!"

The leader turned to Bubba and asked, "And you sir, how about the opposite of woe?" Bubba replied, "I believe that would be giddyup."

The Hits Just Keep On Coming: Speaking of complainers:

An older man is accidentally killed and finds himself being interviewed by Satan. The man asked Satan, "Why am I here? I thought I led a rather sin free life."

Satan replied, "You were always bitching and complaining, so God thought you could spend some time down here with me to become more thankful of what you had. Go now and stop complaining. You will be reevaluated in a month."

The doors opened onto a large lake of shit and a beach. The man noticed a smiling younger man up to his ears in crapola.

Suddenly, a speedboat flashed by the young man, its wake going over the young man's head two or three times. Still, as the wake subsided, the young man continued to smile.

The older man cried out to the young man, "Why are you smiling? You're up to your ears in crap and the waves from that speedboat just went over your head tree times." The young man replied. "I'm just thinking about the guy I'm standing on top of....."

Two men waiting at the pearly gates strike up a conversation. The first man asks the second, "How did you die?" The second man says, "I froze to death."

The first man says, "That's awful, how does it feel to freeze to death?" The second man replies, "It's very uncomfortable at first, you get the shakes, and you get pains in all your fingers and toes. But eventually, it's a very calm way to go. You get numb and you kind of drift off, as if you're sleeping."

The second man asks, "How did you die?" The first man says, "I had a heart attack. You see, I knew my wife was cheating on me, so one day I showed up at home unexpectedly. I ran up to the bedroom and found her alone, knitting. I ran down to the basement, but no one was hiding there. I ran up to the second floor, but no one was hiding there either."

He continued, "I ran as fast as I could to the attic and just as I got there, I had a massive heart attack and died." The second man shakes his head and says, "that's so ironic."

The first man says, "What do you mean?" The second man replies, "If you had only stopped to look in the freezer, we'd both still be alive."

That's it for today, my little Jonathan Livingston Seagulls. Remember, hockey is more tolerable if you pretend they're fighting over the world's last Oreo. I'm heading over to AREA 51 for happy hour.

Celebrating Luly's Birthday At Sabores

We celebrated my sweet friend Luly's birthday at Sabores Restaurant Friday night. Both Luly and husband Paul were kept busy passing out birthday cake to everyone amidst a plethora of karaoke singers.

I chose the opening photograph because it is consistent with Luly's personality. She's a sexy, vibrant and adventurous lass with a great sense of humor. With Cosmo in hand and husband Paul beside her, she is a witty and caring friend and a pleasure to be with.

It was nice to see my friends New York Cari (Caridad), Michelle, photographic artist Wally Clark and meeting a new friend, Diana. I was a bit surprised that I didn't see the enigmatic Stella although I am told that she does, in fact, exist.

Between the constant din of the music and the barrage of flashes from cell phone cameras, I moved later in the evening to the quiet sanctuary of the outdoor tables. I was eventually joined by Paul, Luly and Diana who were seeking a bit of quiet as well.

It's quickly becoming customary for us to end our get-togethers sitting outside in the cool nights, shooting the bull as the venue slowly, but surely, turns out the lights and locks the doors. We seemed to have closed a lot of venues lately......

On A Sad Note: Rock star David Bowie passed away Sunday after a lengthy fight with cancer. Bowie was 69 years old.

The News As I See It: The president of Mexico announced that the notorious drug lord El Chapo has been caught. So good news everybody — Mexico is completely safe again!

An autograph expert said that Hillary Clinton's autograph is the most valuable of all the candidates. For instance, a Hillary Clinton-signed hat is worth about $1500 dollars, while a Jeb Bush-signed hat is worth...whatever the hat cost originally, minus a few bucks for the signature.

At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, a company debuted a drone that can carry a person. People were like, "So... it's a helicopter? It’s been done."

Printable Things I Never Told You: 1) If your girlfriend says she's going out to run some errands and comes back with 6 bags from the mall, you might be dating my ex-wife. 2) I call Realtors advertising on bus stop benches and ask them for the bus schedule. 3) You're suppose to wear clean underwear in case you're ever in an accident. My ex-mother-in-law wears a new pair of shoes every day in case a house lands on her. 4) Remember when everyone died before gluten-free bread? 5) My friend told the Starbucks waiter that his name is Stephen with a "ph". The cup came back reading "Pheven".....and that's five !

Today's Horoscope: Capricorn - January 11th: Something will stir your memory today and it may take a few hours for you to resolve your sense of deja vu, a thought which may have already occurred to you.

Your marital status may change this week, either due to some pre-planned marriage type thing, or possibly just a typing error on a car insurance quote form. Either way, love is on the cards for you.

This year looks like it's going to be a great one. Full of vigorous situations, sweaty encounters and dry, sweet smelling stop-overs in subways and grottos. This horoscope may not apply to all of you.

Bits and pieces of the day will flash before your eyes before you've seen them. This is all due to the excitement and pleasure at a new found love of drinking Jack Daniels whiskey.

The AREA 51 Retirement Home Bar And Grill: Monica Lewinsky was walking on the beach when she found a lantern washed up on the shore. She started to rub it and out popped a genie. She exclaimed, "Oh goodie, now I will get three wishes!"

The genie, "No, you have been very bad in the past and because of this, I can only give you one wish." Monica says, "Let's see, I don't need fame, because I have plenty of that due to all of the media coverage. I don't need money, because of the book I wrote."

Monica continued, "But, I would like to get rid of these love handles, though. Yes, that's it, for my one wish I would like my love handles removed."

Poof! And just like that... her ears were gone.

Conjoined twins walk into a pub in Toronto and park themselves on a bar stool. One of them says to the bartender, "Don't mind us, we're joined at the hip. I'm John, he's Jim. Two Molson Canadian beers, please."

The bartender, feeling slightly awkward, tries to make polite conversation while pouring the beers. "Been on holiday yet, lads?'' John answers, "Off to England next month. We go to England every year, hire a car and drive for miles, don't we, Jim?" Jim nods in agreement.

The bartender continues, "Ah, England, wonderful country...the history, the beer, the culture...." John says, "Nah, we don't like that British crap. Hamburgers and Molson's beer, that's us, eh, Jim? And we can't stand the English. They're arrogant and rude, not civil and polite like we Canadians."

The bartender asks, "So why do you keep going to England?" John says, "It's the only chance Jim gets to drive....."

A sneak attack picture from behind

The Hits Just Keep On Coming: A child in class, when asked to draw a picture of the Holy Family, produced a picture in which Mary and the baby sat on a donkey, led by Joseph. On the ground nearby lay a black blob.

The teacher asked, "What is that?" The child answered, "The flea." The puzzled teacher asked, "What flea, dear?" The child responded, "The one the Angel told Joseph to take."

Eventually, puzzled but not liking to challenge an imaginative child, the teacher checked out her Bible. And there it was: Matthew 2:13; "......the angel of the Lord saying, arise and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt..........."

An older man with tickets to the Super Bowl finds his seat and relaxes. As he sits down, a young man comes down and asks if anyone is sitting in the seat next to him. The older man says,  "No, the seat is empty."

The stranger exclaimed, "This is incredible! Who in their right mind would have a seat like this for the Super Bowl and not use it?"

The older man replied, "Well, actually, the seat belongs to me. I was supposed to come with my wife, but she passed away. This is the first Super Bowl we haven't been to together since we got married in 1975."

The stranger replies, "Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. That's terrible. Couldn't you find a friend or relative, or even a neighbor to take the seat?" The man shakes his head. "No, they're all at the funeral."

That's it for today, my little chipmunks. Remember, your potato salad recipe is not a "family secret". Your uncle Ray, who cooks meth in his trailer home, is a family secret.
